In June of 2007, David, his wife Gail and
their daughter Melissa,
lost their son and brother, Daniel Lee Katz, to a drug
overdose. Following Daniel’s death, David, Gail
and Melissa founded the
SAVE A
STAR Drug Awareness Foundation,
to educate parents and children to the risks
and unpublished dangers of prescription
drugs.
The foundation has achieved enormous success
in just a few short months, including
partnering with the DEA Educational Foundation,
in Washington D.C.
Together they will bring their drug
awareness educational program to more than
20 million people in a cross-country mobile
exhibition in 2009.
